Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.

The business lists hours on 1 day of the week. On most of those days it is open 3:16–3:17 pm. It is closed on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Brownsville is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Brownsville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Cafe Locura is the greatest coffee shop I have been to. The service is wonderful I would recommend this place to everyone. I recommend to also get the food there its delicious. But its very expensive and the parking can be a hassle. Everyone should go to Cafe Locura at least once.

walked in to study and drink some coffee ended up walking out with a whole degree. one of the best vibes ever if you like workspaces or a solid study spot. the coffee was TO DIE FOR. Honestly some of the best coffee ever. the blend was so rich and dark, but also had a lightness to it. overall my latte was phenomenal. This place was actually one of the best coffee shops I've been to in the RGV. The owner was really hype; he saved my dog from running into the street. He also single handedly helped save my gpa. Great owner. Great vibes. Great coffee.

I don’t know what I expected here, but it definitely wasn’t a fog machine entrance and a glowing neon sign that read “Caffeine is temporary, vibes are eternal.” My latte? Absolute perfection — creamy, delectable, dusted with edible glitter, and steam rising like a slow exhale because subtlety does not exist here. The upstairs loft tempts you to linger in its velvet glow. But the real showstopper? The slide that takes you from the upstairs study loft/mezzanine straight into a foam pit next to the barista counter. I lost my pearl earring in there but gained ounces of joy. Between the mug chandelier, fog machine, and the low hum of 432 Hz focus beats in the air, Café Locura is a moment in vibration and awakening of senses. Add in a barista named Marysol who insists on leaving the perfect message on your cup, and you’ve got yourself an experience, not just a latte. I lost my sense of time — but it was worth every second. If you find the pearl earring please send to PO Box 1873. 10/10 — would slide, sip, and fog again. ☕💨✨

Café Locura has become a staple in the RGV community. Their service, atmosphere, and coffee transcends borders and unites sister cities and two countries. Also, the owner is very charismatic, very attentive and has a great smile. I highly recommend! Bring your abuela, mom, tias, tios, primos and EVERYONE. Cafe is always better with great company. Join the Locura movement.

From the moment you step into this shop, you’re enveloped in a warm, nutty aroma that whispers promises of expertly brewed beans and cozy conversation. The interior blends rustic charm with modern minimalism—exposed brick walls, hanging Edison bulbs, and a moss-covered accent wall that doubles as a selfie magnet. The baristas greet you like old friends, and they actually remember your name by the second visit. I ordered their signature Lavender Honey Latte, and it was nothing short of transcendent. The espresso was bold but not bitter, with floral notes that danced on the tongue. The honey added a mellow sweetness without overpowering the lavender, which was infused—not syrupy. Served in a matte ceramic mug with a delicate leaf-shaped foam art, it felt like sipping springtime.
